Specific Need

Funding provided to Plymouth American Legion Auxiliary Unit 243 will be used to support key community and patriotic initiatives, including Veterans Day programs and Girls State, as well as local events such as the Annual Consignment Sale and Santa Night. In addition, the Auxiliary proudly supports many local organizations, helping strengthen and enrich our community through ongoing service and outreach.

In the spirit of Service, Not Self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad.

Profile

The Plymouth American Legion Auxiliary Unit 243 is dedicated to serving veterans and their families. It meets monthly to support these communites and offers various programs, including initiatives for young women interested in government. This program is designed to allow high school juniors to engage in hands-on learning about  government and civic-duty. The unit is part of a larger organization that focuses on veterans, young people, and the community at large, aiming to foster patriotism and support local veterans' needs.

Auxiliary members believe in the ideals and principles of America’s founding fathers and pledge to foster patriotism, preserve and defend the Constitution, promote allegiance to God and Country, and uphold the basic principles of freedom of religion, freedom of expression and freedom of choice. The Auxiliary embodies the spirit of America that has prevailed through war and peace and continues to stand firmly behind America today, as it did when the organization was first founded.
