Specific Need

Funds raised through Jefferson Gives Back would allow the Fairbury PTA to continue creating meaningful opportunities and enriching experiences for all students from preschool through 6th grade across Fairbury Public Schools.

These funds would be used to directly support students, teachers, and families by providing educational experiences, community-building events, and classroom resources that go beyond the regular school budget. Our goal is to ensure that every child has access to activities that promote learning, creativity, and growth, regardless of background or circumstances.

Specifically, funding would help support:

• Enrichment programs and assemblies such as author visits, science programs, and hands-on learning experiences like Wildlife Encounters that bring real-world learning into the classroom.
• Educational resources including books, classroom materials, and learning tools that benefit teachers and students alike.
• Student-wide experiences such as holiday movie days, Fun Night, and other events that build school spirit and create lasting memories.
• Support during academic milestones like providing snacks during state testing to help students stay focused and energized.
• Teacher and staff support, including meals during conferences and appreciation events that help morale and encourage continued excellence.
• Inclusive opportunities so that all students can participate regardless of financial ability, ensuring no child feels left out.
• Special projects and student needs that arise throughout the year, allowing the PTA to respond quickly when needs within the school community emerge.

The Fairbury PTA is committed to using every dollar responsibly and intentionally. Contributions from Jefferson Gives Back would be carefully allocated to programs and services that directly benefit students and enhance their educational experience.

Most importantly, these funds help ensure equity, access, and opportunity for all children within our schools. Every donation becomes an investment in our students’ futures and strengthens our community as a whole.

Mission

The mission of the Fairbury PTA is to support and enrich the educational experiences of students, educators, and families within Fairbury Public Schools. Through dedication, service, and community involvement, we strive to create meaningful opportunities that help students succeed and teachers feel supported.

The Fairbury PTA proudly serves students at Central Elementary and Jefferson Intermediate, along with all teachers, staff, and families throughout our district. Throughout the school year, we work to provide programs, events, and resources that enhance learning and strengthen school spirit.

Our efforts begin with back-to-school fundraisers and continue with providing new school spirit wear and hosting a gently used spirit wear clothing drive. These initiatives help ensure students feel united, confident, and proud to represent their school community.

We also organize and sponsor a variety of student activities and family events. One of our most cherished traditions is the holiday movie experience for all K–6 students during the Christmas season. Students attend a showing at the Bonham Theater and enjoy popcorn and bottled water, giving many children the opportunity to experience something special they might not otherwise have.

The Fairbury PTA also hosts major events such as "Fun Night", creating positive memories for families through engaging activities that take thoughtful planning and dedication. In addition, we remain actively involved during parent-teacher conferences by providing support and meals for teachers, reinforcing our appreciation for their time and commitment.

Education remains at the heart of our mission. Through our Scholastic Book Fair, we help place books into students’ hands while also using earned funds to purchase classroom resources, books for teachers, and materials for school-wide events. We also make it possible for students to meet authors and illustrators, giving them a unique opportunity to learn about storytelling, creativity, and the world of publishing firsthand.

The Fairbury PTA is proud to bring interactive learning experiences into our schools through programs such as Wildlife Encounters, where students explored and learned from real-life animals. Additionally, we support student success in many small but important ways, including providing snacks during Nebraska State testing and celebrating students with end-of-year treats like popsicles.

Our commitment to educators is equally important. During Teacher Appreciation Week, we provide gifts for every teacher and offer lunch for support staff, allowing them a well-earned opportunity to relax and connect with coworkers.

Above all, the Fairbury PTA is dedicated to promoting a supportive, welcoming school environment where students are encouraged to grow, teachers are appreciated, and families feel connected. Our mission is to enrich the lives of those we serve, not only through educational support but through experiences that build confidence, joy, and lifelong memories.
