Specific Need

The Plymouth Improvement Association is seeking financial donations to support ongoing improvements to the existing baseball and softball facilities in the Village of Plymouth. This project is designed to enhance the community by remodeling current facilities to be ADA compliant while ensuring that future generations of children have the opportunity to participate in summer baseball and softball programs.

The project is already underway, with a new concession stand and ADA-compliant restroom facilities currently being constructed. In addition, a handicapped parking area has been added to improve accessibility. Planned improvements include installing concrete throughout the facility to eliminate the existing rock surface, constructing an improved crow’s nest with bleacher seating, adding shade canopies, and expanding overall bleacher seating.

Additional upgrades being considered include renovating the existing tennis court into a pickleball court, adding a walking trail, additional concrete work in an effort to make the entire facility ADA compliant, benches and seating areas, shading options, a new crows nest with bleacher seating and upgrading field lighting. These improvements will create a safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable recreational space for residents and visitors alike.

To sustain a safe, healthful, pleasant quality of life by striving to foster an attitude of cooperation and good will among area residents.  To work for the common good on community issues and maintain and promote the betterment of the Plymouth Community.

Profile

The Plymouth Improvement Association (PIA) has served the community for many years with one shared goal: to improve Plymouth and make our small town a place everyone can be proud to call home. The PIA meets monthly to discuss ongoing activities and community needs.

Over the years, the PIA has brought numerous events to Plymouth, including the Annual Plymouth Consignment Sale (with 2026 marking its 67th year), an Easter Egg Hunt for local children, a pitch tournament, the Summer Kickoff event featuring live music and BBQ meals, an annual town clean-up, Plymouth Days (in collaboration with other hosts), Trunk or Treat, and an annual pancake feed.

Beyond events, the PIA actively supports community improvement projects such as the addition of light and flag poles along Main Street, hanging flower baskets each summer, the splash pad, and many other enhancements. Plymouth is one of Nebraska’s great small towns where community truly means everything.
