Blue River LOSS Team

Specific Need

Funding for the Blue River LOSS Team will be used to purchase materials that provide immediate and ongoing support to individuals and families affected by suicide loss. These materials may include grief support resources, informational packets, remembrance items, and referrals to local and national support services. In addition, funding will support the development and distribution of educational materials that raise community awareness about suicide, reduce stigma, and promote understanding of postvention and prevention resources. Through these efforts, the Blue River LOSS Team aims to support healing for survivors while fostering informed, compassionate, and resilient communities.

Mission

The mission of the Blue River LOSS Team is to provide compassionate, emotional support to individuals, families, and communities impacted by suicide loss, connecting them to resources, helping them navigate grief, while promoting healing, understanding, and hope in the aftermath of tragedy.”

Profile

The Blue River LOSS Team is a non-profit organization serving Jefferson and Gage Counties, dedicated to supporting suicide loss survivors. The team consisits of a Clinical Director and trained volunteers who provide hope and encouragemant to those affected by suicide. They offer resources and support though variuos means, including family visits and resource materials. The team is part of a larger network of LOSS Teams across Nebraska, which have been active since 2009. The Blue River LOSS Team has been active since 2019 and is also involved in educations sessions and conferences to sahre knowledge and resources with other LOSS Teams and our communities.
